About the course
The course is intended for those who need to understand database technology and in particular, that offered by Oracle Corp. The objective is to offer the delegate a flavour for the various skills required in an Oracle support and development environment.

On the course you will learn the features of a RDBMS and Oracles’ management interfaces, both the GUI and the command line options. The course seeks to show delegates where everything is and how the components fit together. The course also serves as a high level introduction to SQL*PLUS, Oracle database administration and Oracle’s programming language PL/SQL.

Anyone wishing to progress towards full training in Oracle SQL or Oracle Database Administration or PL/SQL will find this training a useful launch-pad.
The training is very much hands on. Expect to leave the course with demonstrable, useful, practical skills.

Prerequisites
Delegates should have a general familiarity with IT and feel confident inputting commands into a computer, navigating GUI menus and accessing files on the filing system. Some of the overviews are fairly technical and an understanding of how IT fits together in general would be helpful. You should have some aptitude for computer programming.
